The Department of Political Science was established in 2015 with 3 permanent faculties. At present there are 7 permanent faculties and one approved part time teacher and one guest teacher. There is one non-teaching staff in the department.

Vision of the Department:

The Department has a vision to act as the ‘hub’ of policy study centre in the world in general and India in particular. Its aim is in imparting education that will contribute to the betterment of the society and the nation.

Mission of the Department:

The mission of the Department of Political Science is to communicate the knowledge of Political Science as a scholarly discipline at both Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels and to develop the new knowledge in the field through critical research and scholastic inquiry and to apply the knowledge of political science to serve the needs of the communities at large.

Objective of the UG Program:

The major objectives include:

●  To cultivate an appreciation of aesthetic and ethical values among the students.

●  To increase knowledge of diverse political systems around the world, and the changing domestic and global contexts within which they operate.

●  To increase knowledge of the political science discipline; its principal theoretical frameworks and applications, conceptual vocabulary, and methods of inquiry; its major subfields of study; and its interrelationships with the other social science fields.

●  To increase understanding of basic facts and concepts about the Global political system in general and Indian Political System in particular.

●  To think critically and creatively to solve problems and to develop particular skills and abilities among the learners.

Objective of the PG Program:

The major objectives include:

●  To increase acquisition of citizenship skills, ethical values, and the ability to understand and appreciate human diversity; and to engage in community life as active citizens.

●  To increase development of writing skills through research papers, essay exams, field based projects in political science topics.

●  To increase knowledge of diverse political systems around the world, and the changing domestic and global contexts within which they operate.

●  To Increase knowledge of the political science discipline; its principal theoretical frameworks and applications, conceptual vocabulary, and methods of inquiry; its major subfields of study; and its interrelationships with other social science fields.

●  To increase recognition of the major problems, the leading policies, and the legal issues confronting contemporary political systems globally in general and India in particular.
