Raiganj University was established to promote ‘advancement and dissemination of knowledge and learning and extending higher education to meet the requirements of higher education and research in the subjects and to serve the society and the nation”. Towards meeting this vision as outlined in the Raiganj University Act, the University has made immense strides in the fields of teaching and research in the last five years. The university is now prepared for its first round of accreditation by NAAC. Over the years, successful implementation of digitalised admission procedure (DAP) ensured a speedy and hassle-free admission process as well as equity and accessibility to higher education in the University. Introduction of new technologies over the last few years has improved upon the Teaching, Learning and Evaluation process which have been reflected in the Student progression data. To promote advanced research the University is also in the process of establishing the sophisticated Instrumentation Facility Centre. We met the expectations of the Government and the society by consistently increasing the student enrolment over the last five years. IQAC, which was established in 2016, supplemented the efforts of the University in its pursuit of access and inclusion by making quality the defining element of our education. It achieved this through periodic assessment and revision of curriculum, and academic collaborations. To create a robust ecosystem of innovation in the region we established the Business Incubation and Innovation Centre. To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality research we have also created interdisciplinary Centres. It is with immense pleasure that I submit the accreditation report for the first cycle of assessment to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bengaluru.
