The Department has been established in the year of 2016. Being in its nascent stage the department has successfully provided education and research in the area of law and is striving to work beyond by introducing LL.B (3 Years Program). The department has also started Ph.D. Program with candidates from different renowned institutes. The Department imparts education at the post graduation stage. The Department of law in the Raiganj University had started its journey from the year 8th Nov. 2016 and initially started offering 2 year LL.M. program inducting highly experienced faculty. The Department of Law is rich with many experienced faculties from various specialisations. Additionally, the department organizes lectures of famous faculties, judges and senior advocates from various parts of India.

Ph.D. Program in Law has been started from the Session 2020-21 with following thrust areas—

● Corporate Law.
Till now ten students have cleared from the department. Alumni of the department are successfully practicing in various courts including high courts and are contributing in the legal research. There are twenty-five students in the present ongoing post graduation session. The department has also undertaken proposals regarding various projects and centers for legal development.
