Department of Education, Raiganj University visions to have a sustainable impact on society through various innovations and discover in education, research, creativity, and others.

Mission of the Department:

●  To establish the department as a center of excellence for teaching-learning and research.

●  Give the students hands on experiences on different aspects of education with the help of different labs, visiting schools and community.

●  Enable the students and teachers to learn modern technological innovations and make them use in advancement of teaching-learning and research endeavors. Engage the teachers and students in different outreach programs to disseminate knowledge and social skills among the broader spectrum of the society.

✱ BA (Programme Course) also offered by this Department as aided & self financed basis.

 

Objectives of the UG Program:

●  To foster the holistic development of the learners by imparting them updated knowledge and proficiency so that academic excellence can be attained.

●  To make them theoretically sound regarding the recent trends of knowledge domain in education as well as the means to ensure sustainable development.

●  To create condition to enable the learner to apply the theoretically acquired knowledge into practical life-centric situation and enhance community engagement through practicing social skills, humanism and tolerance.

Objectives of the PG Program:

●  To impart advanced knowledge and skills to further the continuum of academic excellence.

●  To generate positive attitude among the learners towards the process of learning and research.

●  To stir up the spirit of enquiry and experimentation of the learners by enabling them to utilize the material and technological resources of the department.
To sensitize the learners regarding the inclusive nature of society, their responsibilities and social obligations as well as to inculcate humanism and tolerance.

●  Faculty members at the department of education has been effectively facilitating the teaching-learning process since its conception in 2016. As a result of this endeavor, two undergraduate batches and three post graduate batches have been passed out with 100% success rate.

●  Two students at PG level have successfully qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC-CBSE and NTA in last two years and three students have qualified the State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by West Bengal College Service Commission.

●  Faculty members have published numerous research papers and periodicals, edited several books during the last few years, especially in the time of COVID-19 pandemic situation. Some of our faculty members are actively engaged in different academic bodies, learned societies, research advisory boards, invited as examiner, paper setter, moderator as well as appeared as resource persons at national and international level seminar, conferences and workshops.

1.  Collaborated with Kalna College (West Bengal), Mahatma Gandhi Central University (Bihar) and Ramkrishna Mission Shikshanmandira (Belur Math)in a One Week National Level Online Workshop on “Techno-Pedagogy and Research Methodology” on 17th - 23rd July 2020.


2.  Organized a One-day National Level Webinar titled ‘Digital Divide in Higher Education: Challenges and Probable Way-outs” on 16th August 2020.
